CURRENCY

The official currency in Norway is the Norwegian Kroner (NOK).

ELECTRICITY

Norway uses 220 – 240 Volt/ 50Mhz system and two-pin continental plugs – the same as most other European countries.

LANGUAGE

The official language of the congress is English. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

SPECIAL EVENT IN MAY

On the 17th of May Norway is commemorating the signing of the constitution in 1814. In Norway, the Constitution Day is very important and it is celebrated with traditional parades across the country. Whilst many other countries celebrate their national day with a military parade, Norway commemorates this important date with a big celebration for everyone. Children’s parades are the central element of the celebrations. During this day you will see a lot of different Norwegian traditional costumes in the streets of Bergen. The different colours and styles indicate where this costume (bunad) originates.
